So now its the leftovers review for my Lobster and Chicken from Tokyo steakhouse.
So I just put everything that was left, which was a bit of everything, together on a single plate. I reheated for one minute 20 seconds, mixed it then finished heating it for one minute.
The rice lost most of the bacon flavor sadly, all that was left was the taste of ginger, with a hint of garlic, and bacon flavor whenever you ate a piece of bacon with it. The Lobster maintained the same flavor as yesterday but actually had some lobster taste at the end. That was surprising for me. The vegetables were not any better or worse. The zucchini was still to hard for my tastes and the mushrooms were the same. The chicken actually had a slight ginger flavor to it on the reheat. So not bad for leftovers, but not as good as it was fresh, and it wasn't very good fresh.

Tokyo Steakhouse Food Critique
So this will be my first Food critique on this blog. Been thinking about getting into restaurant reviews for a while, and now I finally am. So today we are reviewing:
Ordered:
Next came the salad. It had what seemed like a Terriyaki base at the bottom topped with a sweet sauce with sesame seeds mixed into the sauce. I found it to be quite enjoyable. It had a vinaigrette base and the flavors well complimented each other. It loses some of its enjoyability at the bottom though, but overall it was quite good.
Now we come to the bad parts, which sadly, is the rest of the meal. The fried rice was very sub-par. When I eat fried rice I expect a taste of an Asian cuisine, not the flavor of ginger and bacon. Their fried rice comes with bacon, that is its selling point. but the flavor has a strong taste of ginger, garlic, and finishes with a taste of bacon. Now I love bacon, and I find their creation interesting, but it was no where near what I expected of a fried rice. Overall the flavors were overpowering, and not what you would expect of a fried rice.
Next we all received 2 shrimp, and the rest went to my wife. The shrimp was actually pretty decent. It didn't have much flavor beyond shrimp though. It was the equivalent of any grilled shrimp I have had at any other steakhouse, slightly smokey with a grilled taste.
Now we come to the least enjoyable part of my meal, my lobster. When I order lobster I expect to taste the lobster. Lobster has that unique flavor at the end. The problem here is that my lobster after cooking had the texture of a grilled shrimp, which isn't bad, but the issue is that it lost the flavor that lobster is known for. I love when cooks can accentuate the flavors of a dish, but they should never eliminate the base flavors of that dish. That is what happened here. My lobster tasted like a grilled shrimp cooked with a steak. It had that smokey flavor that a steak acquires. So I might as well have saved some money and ordered either the shrimp and chicken, or one of the steaks and chicken. Would have saved ta least a couple dollars and it would have tasted the same. So overall the lobster was not worth the price, nor was it worth the time. I could have achieved the same with a much less expensive ingrediant.
Next we come to the vegetables. I love a good vegetable, my wife, not so much. Once again we come to a lack of flavor. The largest flavor in the vegetables? Steamed. They tasted like they were steamed. Didn't taste like terriyaki, didn't taste like ginger, just steamed. This was a disappointment for me. I was really expecting more t this point. I was looking for that saving grace and it never came. So overall the vegetables were fine, but lacked any flavor of an Asian cuisine.
Finally I got my chicken, and my wife got her New York steak. I tried a bite of her steak, which was well done. It tasted just like steak from any other steak house. Not even an iota of flavor beyond the basics. Sad. That is the only word for this meal so far. My chicken was even more disappointing. My only thought was that they couldn't possibly mess up the chicken, sadly I was wrong. It had no flavor beyond the basic grilled flavor. Slightly smokey with the flavor of chicken.
Well people are probably thinking by now: "That is what the dipping sauces are for!". Well I tried the sauces, except for the hot, and was sadly disappointed. The ginger sauce was very delicious, but its flavor didn't last. Anything that I dipped in the ginger started delicious, then was quickly left with just the base flavor of my foods. The flavor didn't last. The same can be said of the terriyaki. The terriyaki was slightly thicker so I assumed that it would have a more lasting flavor. This was sadly not the case. Like its brother the ginger sauce its flavor was like a wisp of smoke, there for a second and gone the next.
My overall review of the Tokyo Steakhouse is a simple one, atmosphere. That is why people believe it is delicious and amazing. I read some interesting articles on the fact that the atmosphere can change our perception of flavor. So when I came in with no expectations, completely unbiased, I found that it could not deliver on its promise. I wouldn't be this negative if the restaurant's name was: Steakhouse Tries Tokyo, but sadly their name implies a mastery of the Asian flavors. If you want a semi-interesting show with your meal and some sub-par food go ahead and try this restaurant. However the moment you realize that the atmosphere changes your perception you will realize that the food is nothing more then a cheap imitation of basic Asian cuisine. If you're looking for that steakhouse flavor, find a cheaper place.

Tokyo Steakhouse
So on the 27th of September my family and I went to the Tokyo Steakhouse. This was my first time ever going there. I'm from Montana so there are a lot of places in Sacramento that I have never even heard of. So here is what I ate and my review of it.Ordered:
- Drink: Root Beer(My favorite)
- Course: Teppanyaki Lobster and Chicken
Next came the salad. It had what seemed like a Terriyaki base at the bottom topped with a sweet sauce with sesame seeds mixed into the sauce. I found it to be quite enjoyable.
